CARE GUIDELINES:
Diet: Although omnivorous, Gold White Cloud Mountain Minnows benefit from a protein-rich and varied diet. They readily eat high-quality flakes, micro pellets, and a wide range of live, frozen, or freeze-dried fish foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworms, and finely chopped Tubifex. Occasional spirulina or veggie-based flakes can be offered for balance.
Feeding habits: Due to their small mouths, food should be crushed or offered in micro-sized portions to ensure easy feeding. These minnows should be fed once or twice daily in small amounts—only what they can consume within 2–3 minutes. A varied diet will help bring out their vivid golden coloration.
Social behavior: Peaceful, energetic, and best enjoyed in schools. Gold White Clouds thrive when kept in groups of 6 or more, where they exhibit natural schooling behaviors, reduced stress, and increased color vibrancy. They are ideal for peaceful community aquariums.
Origin: Developed through selective breeding from the original species found in White Cloud Mountain, Guangdong, China. The gold variant is captive-bred and not found in the wild.
Average adult size: 1.2 – 1.5 inches (3 – 4 cm), making them well-suited for nano tanks or smaller coldwater setups with proper care and space.
