Green Bottle Blue Tarantula (Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens)
Discover the absolutely stunning Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens, commonly known as the Green Bottle Blue (GBB) Tarantula. This spectacular New World arboreal species from Venezuela is one of the most popular and visually striking tarantulas in the hobby, prized by hobbyists for its vibrant metallic blue legs, green carapace, orange abdomen, and impressive webbing displays—making it an excellent choice for beginners and experienced keepers alike.
Why Choose Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens?
Stunning Tri-Color Pattern: Metallic blue legs, vibrant green carapace, and orange abdomen create an unforgettable display
Impressive Webbing: Creates elaborate, dense web structures throughout the entire enclosure—a true webbing machine
Beginner-Friendly: Hardy, forgiving of minor care mistakes, and tolerates dry conditions
Always Visible: Unlike many species, GBBs are often out in the open on their webs
Fast Growth Rate: Reaches maturity relatively quickly with vibrant colors appearing early
Care Requirements
This arboreal species thrives in a tall enclosure with vertical climbing space, cork bark or branches for anchor points, low to moderate humidity (60-70%), and warm temperatures (75-82°F). Provide good ventilation as this species prefers drier conditions than most arboreals.
