Description

Cryptocoryne Flamingo is one of the most stunning and sought-after aquarium plants, known for its unique pink to rose-colored leaves that add a vibrant pop of color to planted tanks. Unlike typical green Cryptocoryne varieties, Crypt Flamingo offers a soft pastel tone that beautifully contrasts with other green and red aquatic plants, making it a centerpiece in any aquascape.

Native to Sri Lanka, Cryptocoryne Flamingo is a hardy, slow-growing root-feeding plant that thrives in stable water conditions. Its compact size and brilliant coloration make it perfect for the foreground or midground of aquariums, especially in nano tanks or detailed aquascapes. This variety grows best in nutrient-rich substrate and moderate light, though it can adapt well to low-light setups with proper care.

At our Splashy Fish tropical fish store, our Cryptocoryne Flamingo and other aquarium plants are carefully selected and packed with love! Visit us to buy them online or at our aquarium store in Virginia for a wide selection of freshwater fish for sale, betta fish for sale, freshwater shrimp for sale, and aquarium supplies.

Why Choose Cryptocoryne Flamingo?

Beautiful pink foliage: Unique coloration adds elegance and visual contrast.

Compact growth: Perfect for foreground or small aquascapes.

Low maintenance & hardy: Suitable for beginners and advanced aquascapers alike.

Low to moderate light tolerant: Maintains color even in low-tech setups.

Safe for all freshwater species: Ideal for shrimp tanks, Betta tanks, and community aquariums.

Root-feeding plant: Thrives with nutrient-rich substrate or root tabs.

How to Plant Cryptocoryne Flamingo in Your Aquarium

Rinse the plant gently to remove any gel or debris before planting.

Divide into small clumps if multiple shoots are present.

Insert the roots gently into the substrate, leaving the crown (where roots meet leaves) above the surface.

Avoid moving it frequently, as Cryptocoryne Flamingo prefers stable placement and will establish slowly.

Use root tabs or a nutrient-rich substrate to support healthy, colorful growth.

Tip: When first introduced, Crypt Flamingo may experience mild “Crypt melt,” where older leaves dissolve as the plant adjusts. Don’t worry, new, healthy pink leaves will regrow once it stabilizes.
