Description
The Exo Terra Night Heat Lamp, a 100w dark blue incandescent bulb, is crafted to emit gentle nighttime warmth for reptiles.
However, similar to red bulbs, these blue “moonlight” bulbs are generally not needed for reptiles and could pose risks. Nocturnal reptiles possess highly sensitive vision, enabling them to navigate in complete darkness as perceived by humans, making extra nighttime lighting redundant. Additionally, any light during the night may disrupt the sleep patterns of diurnal (day-active) reptiles, with blue light being especially detrimental to eye health and natural sleep cycles.
For those requiring a heat source at night due to low temperatures unsuitable for their reptile, we suggest opting for the Exo Terra Ceramic Heater as a safer alternative at ReptileSupply.com.
