Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches (Gromphadorhina portentosa) belong to a group of about 20 species of sizable hissing roaches found only in Madagascar. As adults, they reach lengths of 2-3 inches and are unique for lacking wings, unlike many other cockroach species. These roaches are popular as both exotic pets and as a nutritious food source for large reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids.
