Description

Monte Carlo (Micranthemum tweediei) is one of the most popular and beginner-friendly carpet plants used in aquascaping today. Known for its small, round leaves and lush green coverage, the Monte Carlo tissue culture plant forms a dense, vibrant carpet across the aquarium floor, creating a stunning natural landscape that resembles a rolling green meadow underwater. Tissue culture versions ensure the plant is pest-free, algae-free, and ready to grow healthy roots upon planting.

Unlike many carpeting plants, Monte Carlo grows quickly and adapts well to a wide range of conditions, making it perfect for both CO₂-injected tanks and low-tech aquariums. It’s ideal for aquascapers, shrimp tanks, and nano tanks looking to achieve a professional-looking aquascape with minimal effort.

At our Splashy Fish tropical fish store, our Monte Carlo Tissue Culture Plant and other tissue culture plants are carefully selected and packed with love! Visit us to buy them online or at our aquarium store in Virginia for a wide selection of freshwater fish for sale, betta fish for sale, freshwater shrimp for sale, and aquarium supplies.

Why Choose Monte Carlo Tissue Culture Plant?

Lush, low-growing carpet: Creates a dense, bright green mat across your substrate.

Pest-free tissue culture: 100% clean and free of algae, snails, or pathogens.

Easy to grow and maintain: Perfect for beginners and professional aquascapers.

Adaptable growth: Thrives in both CO₂ and non-CO₂ aquariums.

Compact leaves and steady growth: Ideal for nano tanks and foreground aquascapes.

Fish and shrimp safe: Provides natural cover and enhances tank aesthetics.

How to Plant Monte Carlo Tissue Culture Plant in Your Aquarium

Rinse the tissue culture gel gently under running water to remove any residue.

Divide the plant into small clumps (½–1 inch sections) using aquascaping scissors.

Plant each clump into the substrate about 1 inch apart using tweezers.

Provide moderate to bright lighting and clean water flow to encourage horizontal spreading.

Within a few weeks, Monte Carlo will send out runners and form a lush green carpet.

Tip: For the fastest and most compact growth, use CO₂ injection, stable lighting (8–10 hours daily), and nutrient-rich substrate.
