Orange Rili Shrimp Coloration
Brighten up your aquarium with the stunning Orange Rili Shrimp, a breathtaking variety of Neocaridina davidi that boasts a vivid orange and translucent white pattern. Their semi-transparent midsections create a striking contrast against the deep orange hues on their head and tail, making them a visually stunning addition to any freshwater tank. Whether you have a nano setup or a lush planted aquarium, these aquarium shrimps add a pop of color and movement, enhancing the natural beauty of your aquatic environment.
Orange Rili Shrimp Size
Though small in stature, Orange Rili Shrimp leave a big impression. Reaching an adult size of 1 to 1.5 inches, they are ideal for nano tanks, shrimp-only setups, and community aquariums. Their small size allows them to navigate crevices, driftwood, and plants with ease, adding dynamic activity to your tank.
Orange Rili Shrimp Behavior
These hardy and peaceful freshwater shrimp are known for their active and social nature. They spend their days grazing on biofilm, algae, and detritus, making them excellent natural tank cleaners. Whether foraging on aquatic plants, exploring decorations, or interacting with other live aquarium shrimp, their playful behavior is fascinating to watch.
Orange Rili Shrimp Care Requirements
With many years of experience in breeding and caring for live freshwater shrimp and fish, we ensure that our shrimp thrive in the best possible conditions before they reach your aquarium. Orange Rili Shrimp are beginner-friendly and adapt well to a wide range of water parameters. They flourish in well-established, planted aquariums with stable conditions. A pH range of 6.5 to 7.5 and a temperature range of 65 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit create an ideal environment for these charming crustaceans.
Orange Rili Shrimp Compatibility
Orange Rili Shrimp are peaceful, non-aggressive invertebrates that coexist well with other small freshwater shrimp and fish species. They do best with:
Other Neocaridina shrimp varieties (such as Blue Dream Shrimp, Bloody Mary, and Yellow Shrimp)
Nano fish like Chili Rasboras, Ember Tetras, and Celestial Pearl Danios
Snails like Nerite Snails and Mystery Snails
Avoid keeping them with large or aggressive fish like Cichlids, Bettas, or larger Gouramis, as they may see shrimp as food.
Orange Rili Shrimp Diet
To keep your Orange Rili Shrimp healthy, active, and vibrantly colored, provide them with a well-balanced diet. They are omnivores and thrive on:
High-quality shrimp pellets
Algae wafers
Blanched vegetables (zucchini, spinach, or kale)
Biofilm and detritus (naturally occurring in well-maintained aquariums)
A diverse diet ensures bright coloration, successful molting, and optimal health
