Red Rili Shrimp Size
Growing to an average size of 1 to 1.25 inches, Red Rili Shrimp are perfect for nano and planted aquariums. Their small size allows them to navigate through dense aquatic vegetation, contributing to a dynamic and lively tank environment.
Red Rili Shrimp Behavior
Red Rili Shrimp are peaceful, social, and highly active. These freshwater shrimp spend most of their time foraging on biofilm, algae, and detritus, playing a crucial role in maintaining a clean and balanced aquarium. Keeping them in groups of 6 to 12 enhances their natural behaviors and helps establish a thriving shrimp colony.
Red Rili Shrimp Care Requirements
These hardy Neocaridina freshwater shrimp are beginner-friendly and adaptable to a wide range of water conditions. They thrive in well-cycled tanks with stable parameters. Providing a habitat with live aquatic plants such as Marimo Moss Balls, Anubias Nana, and Cryptocoryne offers additional hiding spots and grazing surfaces, ensuring their health and well-being.
Red Rili Shrimp Compatibility
Red Rili Shrimp are excellent additions to peaceful community tanks. They coexist well with other non-aggressive Neocaridina shrimp varieties, aquarium snails, and small, shrimp-safe fish. However, they should not be housed with large or predatory species that may see them as prey.
Red Rili Shrimp Diet
To maintain their vibrant red coloration and overall health, Red Rili Shrimp require a balanced diet of high-quality shrimp food. While they naturally graze on biofilm and algae, supplementing their diet with sinking shrimp pellets, blanched vegetables (such as spinach and zucchini), and Indian almond leaves ensures optimal nutrition and enhances their coloration.
