Seachem ParaGuard stands out as a uniquely safe aldehyde-based (10% by weight) solution for controlling parasites on fish, without harming fish or filters. Unlike harsh formalin treatments that are toxic and challenging to apply, ParaGuard is free from formaldehyde and methanol, ensuring it does not affect pH levels. It features a special mix of aldehydes, malachite green, and protective polymers for fish, which powerfully targets a range of ectoparasites (like ich) as well as external fungal, bacterial, and viral conditions (such as fin rot). This product is especially beneficial in quarantine or receiving tanks for new arrivals and when integrating new fish into an established aquarium community.
