Description
The Staurogyne sp. ‘Porto Velho’ is a rare and visually captivating stem plant that brings rich texture and earthy tones to the foreground or midground of a planted aquarium. Originally collected near Porto Velho in Brazil, this variant has not yet been formally described in scientific literature, but it is prized by aquascapers for its slender leaves and dark, moody coloration.
Unlike its more common cousin Staurogyne repens, this variety grows narrower, elongated leaves with hues of deep green, bronze, and sometimes reddish-purple under high light and rich nutrients. Its low, bushy growth form makes it a fantastic choice for natural aquascapes with a mature, grounded feel.
Pre-potted for convenience, the Staurogyne sp. ‘Porto Velho’ is easy to plant and relocate without disturbing your substrate.
